Darfur

Don't forget about the people of Darfur. 400,000 dead and 2.5 million displaced are mind-boggling numbers, but remember that they are people. You can help by contacting your elected officials or giving to the relief agency of your choice.

Bears Okay But Still Not Great

I'm snacking on humble pie tonight after the Bears beat the Giants 38-20. In my own defense, the Giants had a lot of guys hurt and lost a couple more during the game, but I thought they'd still be able to put away the average Chicago Bears. I was feeling pretty good in the first half when the Giants were leading 13-3, but in the end I was wrong.

I still stand by my predictions for the next two weeks when the Bears will face the Jets and then the Patriots.

Giants Embearrass Chicago

Oh, I know. The game hasn't happened yet. But I'm restating my prediction of 3 weeks ago that this Sunday the NY Giants will expose the "NFC's Best" (HA!) as only a team who benefitted from a cushy schedule. They'll struggle against the Jets the following week, but probably win, and then be crushed again the next week by the Patriots. Meanwhile the Vikings, who now have the cushy schedule will gain a couple of games on the Bears and maybe catch them. That's not to say the Vikes are great, only that the Bears are average. Write it down.
